 Florida is the Entertainment Capital of the World – an overused phrase
but very true! But the white sandy beaches of the Gulf Coast and
the wonderful theme parks of the Disney area are only part of what
Florida has to offer………If you are a golfer then
your main problem is choosing which course to play – golf
courses are everywhere! A range of courses cater for the beginner
through to some of the most difficult around with water everywhere!
Not
many people are aware of the marvellous inland fishing that is available
in Florida. Some of the lakes in Florida are regarded as the best
Bass fishing in the world and there is no closed season. Just buy
your license and off you go. And then of course there is the marvellous
deep-water fishing. A day trip off the coast in a boat with an experienced
captain will be an experience you will never forget. Florida is a
fisherman’s paradise.
Florida
caters well for the sports enthusiast. Sporting activities are in
an abundance with American football, rodeo, baseball, basketball,
boating, tennis, snorkelling, deep sea diving, parachuting, bungee
jumping and so the list goes on and on. There is so much to do that
you will really need to plan your activities well in advance.
The
expression “shop till you drop” started here! The wide
choice of shops including massive shopping malls and designer outlets
will cater for everyone whether you are looking to purchase designer
clothes or looking to buy those holiday bargains for friends and
family back home.
 But as the sun starts
to set your thoughts may turn to food and drink and here again
the holidaymaker is literally well catered for there are always
a wide range of restaurants close at hand wherever you are staying
ranging from family meals to the ultimate a la carte. But perhaps
the two specialities are superb thick, juicy steaks or seafood
especially shellfish. Our favourites are either a 16oz Filet mignon
or a lobster tail. For those who are really hungry try both! For
a great evening out take the family to one of the many dinner
shows that are available throughout the state. These themed dinners
offer excellent value for money and are great fun throughout the
evening.
And finally
there is the nightlife. Sitting in a quiet bar enjoying your favourite
cocktail is always available but in addition there are nightclubs
and busier bars always close at hand. In Central Florida there
are the added evening attractions of City Walk at Universal or
Pleasure Island at Disney. Here you can shop, eat, drink and dance
the night away all at one location – just make sure you
do not drink and drive!
